FAQ

Questions we hear often.

Common questions about working with the firm.

What kinds of clients does the firm work with?

We work primarily with individuals and families โ€” often those with significant assets, closely held businesses, or multi-generational wealth considerations. We do not handle litigation-heavy family law matters.

How does a first consultation work?

We begin with a short call to understand your situation. If the matter fits our practice, we schedule an in-person or virtual meeting to discuss in detail. There is typically no charge for the initial call.

What does an estate plan cost?

Fees depend on complexity. A straightforward will and powers of attorney is much less than a comprehensive trust-based plan with business succession components. We provide a written estimate before any work begins.

Do I need a trust, or is a will enough?

It depends on the assets, the family, and the goals. A will is sufficient in some cases; a trust is preferable in others. We discuss this openly during the design phase and recommend what actually fits.

How often should an estate plan be updated?

We recommend a review every three to five years, or any time there is a significant change in family, assets, or law. We encourage clients to reach out when circumstances shift.

How do you handle billing?

Most matters are billed at an hourly rate, with a written estimate upfront. Some engagements โ€” such as basic estate planning packages โ€” can be handled at a flat fee. We do not surprise clients with invoices.

How do we get started?

Reach out through the contact page. We will respond within one business day to schedule an initial call.
