Design
We tailor structure and strategy to the specific situation, not to a template.
Once we understand the situation, we design a plan. Not a standard plan, and not a plan that works in the abstract — a plan for this family, these assets, these concerns.
The design phase is where the most consequential decisions get made: whether to use a trust or a will, how to title assets, how to sequence transfers, how to balance the interests of different family members.
What this phase involves
- Recommendation of an appropriate structure
- Analysis of tax consequences
- Consideration of family dynamics and fairness
- Coordination with other advisors (CPA, financial planner)
- Written outline of the plan before drafting begins
We explain the design in plain language, so the client understands not just what we are recommending, but why.
